Îlot des Capucins
Off the tip of the Crozon peninsula, the Îlot des Capucins holds a military fort built in 1859 to guard the Brest roadstead. Today it’s sealed off, eaten by salt and wind, reachable only by a narrow bridge that most people just look at from the cliffs.
On March 25, 2024, I crossed it for a music video shoot. Between setups, I wandered off with two cameras, a Sony A7IV and a children’s Kidizoom, trying to catch the feeling of being somewhere out of time, somewhere off-limits.
Two years later, I went back into those images in Photoshop. The first collage stamps the site with its own GPS coordinates. The second pulls in pieces of Halo, the game world I keep returning to, and hides a Banshee among the ruins, a quiet signature.
